About our Team

The Pantomath Operations Team is paramount in ensuring business continuity and efficiency for the benefit of our team and customers. The successful candidate will join a team of professionals responsible for crucial functions including accounting, compliance, finance, HR, IT, legal, sales & marketing operations, and general business administration.

Your Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Director to join our operations team. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Human Resources Director will lead and manage the entire people operations lifecycle. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in planning, implementing, and continuously improving HR processes. The ideal candidate will have experience as the lead or sole HR resource in an organization and will demonstrate impeccable attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and professionalism when handling complex HR issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Operations Lifecycle

    • Plan and execute recruitment strategies, including job postings, candidate sourcing, and onboarding of new hires.

    • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve HR procedures throughout the employment lifecycle, including annual performance reviews, succession planning, migrations, as well as administer all portions of Pantomath’s Progressive Discipline Policy.

    • Work closely with Pantomath people leaders to identify staffing needs and develop talent acquisition plans to build a strong candidate pool.

    • Lead position responsible for the creation, collaboration with legal counsel, and continuous improvement of company employment agreements and documentation.

    • Lead and oversee the administration of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding all HR-related matters, providing guidance and support as needed.

  • Confidentiality and Professionalism

    • Serve as the sole confidential resource for the company, handling sensitive HR issues with discretion, emotional intelligence, and professionalism.

    • Maintain accurate and confidential and comprehensive employee records.

  • HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Payroll

    • Manage the company’s HRIS for payroll processing and benefits administration.

    • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payroll and benefits operations.

    • Collaborate with Finance to assist with fiscal planning and mitigate unplanned financial variances.

  • Compliance and Reporting

    • Lead position responsible for working with state and federal agencies related to unemployment, workers' compensation insurance, and other government regulations.

    • Ensure Pantomath HR processes are compliant with all relevant employment laws and regulations.

  • Vendor and Contractor Management

    • Plan, source, and manage financial and reporting requirements for all subcontractors and professional services.

    • Lead and foster the relationship with recruiting firms and other HR-related vendors.

  • Culture and Values

    • Foster and enhance company culture by developing and implementing initiatives that promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment.

    • Ensure company values are reflected in HR practices and employee interactions.

    • Organize and lead company events, team-building activities, and employee recognition programs to strengthen team cohesion and morale.

  • Training and Development

    • Collaborate with Pantomath people leaders to identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and career development.

    • Facilitate onboarding programs to ensure new hires are well-integrated and set up for success in their roles.

    • Provide ongoing support and resources to managers and employees for professional development and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in human resources management, with a focus on people operations and HR administration, preferably for a startup.

  • Proven success in leading and managing HR functions, preferably as the lead or sole HR resource in an organization.

  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems, payroll processing, and benefits administration.

  • Impeccable attention to detail and a high level of professionalism.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization regardless of medium or context.

  • Thorough understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations as well as HR-related certifications and accreditations.

  • Due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate should be able to facilitate the role in-office with minimal need to work remotely.
