Alloy Growth Lab (formerly HCDC Business Center)

This is your opportunity to be an integral part of the new Alloy Growth Lab (formerly HCDC Business Center). You will be a mix-master, alchemist, and agent of impact that creates positive collisions for our member startups by leveraging your skills and knowledge around capital, customers, and community connections. You will be part of a Top 10 incubator that prides itself on delivering for our member startups that have generated over $100m in capital since 2016 and $140m in exits since 2010, and is a foundational component of the StartupCincy entrepreneurial ecosystem. Candidate must reside in the Cincinnati/Dayton metro area. The position is 60/40 - 60% onsite, 40% remote if necessary. Interested candidates can send resume to resumes@hcdc.com.

Here is what you will be focused on and what we are looking for:

Venture Building

  • Navigating startups through the investment/funding landscape, including venture and non-dilutive sources;
  • Connecting them to fellow entrepreneurs, potential customers, and regional talent;
  • Developing and managing a strong growth strategy;
  • Gaining traction with the right product and market;
  • Willing to identify, empathize, and attack problems from a different angle, then propose solutions that will add value;
  • Ability to assist startups across the venture readiness spectrum, particularly as it relates to team, problem/vision, value prop, product, market, business model, scale, and exit.

Outreach

  • Serve as a connector that leverages partnerships and collaborative opportunities (industry, government, university), especially throughout the StartupCincy ecosystem, but also with the ability to reach outside of the Cincinnati ecosystem;
  • Hunting, scouting, and herding mentality, particularly with an eye and instinct for companies that have the potential for capital infusion;
  • Carry the torch for the Alloy Growth Lab and be a passionate advocate not only for us, but for the startup community in general;

Programming

  • Execute on existing Alloy Growth Lab programs including The Huddle, Peer-to-Peer programming, Morning Mentoring, The Mighty Network and others;
  • Execute on programming with StartupCincy partners including SustainableCincy, StartupCincy Week and other collaborative opportunities;
  • Ideation and implementation of new programs to grow the Alloy Growth Lab.

Tangibles

  • Familiarity with business modeling, specifically the Business Model Canvas methodology;
  • Constructing pitch-deck presentations and how to work with investors;
  • Broad array of business experience, especially working with smaller businesses;
  • Knowledge of tech-tools to spur efficiency and to share with our clients.

Job Type: Full-time Exempt

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 (DOQ)
