Common Sense Privacy, a spinoff of Common Sense Media, is seeking a Head of Revenue to lead and grow their enterprise sales function in the online privacy space. Common Sense has built trust with consumers, parents, and privacy advocates over the past 20 years. Common Sense Privacy expands upon Common Sense Media’s Data Privacy Program. Utilizing cutting edge AI, our SaaS platform helps companies manage privacy risk and differentiate themselves with our seal. Our vision is to create the new standard in data privacy and bring consumer interests in harmony with business requirements.
Common Sense Privacy recently closed a seed round that was led by Andrew Ng’s AI Fund. The Head of Revenue will report directly to the CEO.
We’re looking for a Head of Revenue to close our first deals, build a top-performing Enterprise sales team and serve as a strategic partner to the company’s founders. This is an opportunity to join an early-stage startup backed by top-tier investors and angels. As our first sales hire and as a founding member of a world-class team, there will be significant growth opportunities. This will be a remote role.

Responsibilities For the Role Include:

  • Consistently manage and maintain a high-quality pipeline that is sufficient to cover the revenue plan
  • Hit quarterly and yearly profit and revenue targets.
  • Hire and develop a growing team of sales reps including account executives, SDRs, and client sales reps
  • Create new and sustain existing senior relationships.
  • Establish sales processes to serve SMB, mid-market, and enterprise customers across industries
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly sales plans and targets to strategize resource allocation with the leadership team
  • Work with Marketing and Customer Success to drive product onboarding features and improve the conversion of marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) and product-qualified leads (PQLs).
  • Work with Product and Engineering to drive product requirements based on customer calls and features to improve sales conversion.
  • Use data and analytics to track problem areas and drive further efficiencies including shortening sales cycles, increasing ARRs, and increasing conversion rates.
  • Work with resellers/partners to extend reach & drive adoption.
  • Lead contract negotiations.
  • Travel throughout the USA.

Requirements For the Role Include:

  • Have 7+ years of sales experience at B2B SaaS companies with a minimum of 2 years in senior leadership positions with a successful track record of business development at a VC-backed technology company.
  • Track record of overachievement against bookings targets in Enterprise SaaS, as an individual contributor and team leader
  • Actionable rolodex of decision makers
  • Possess a strong customer EQ: develop key relationships, understand issues/opportunities, and drive value
  • Bring strong operational discipline with an analytical, process-oriented mindset and a data-based approach to decision-making and assessment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strategic and execution mindset
  • Have the ability to recruit, lead, motivate, coach, and assess high-performance professional services, customer success, training, and support teams.
  • Early-stage startup ethos and grit, evidenced by a strong work ethic, a drive to succeed, and an ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
