What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to lead data integration projects and support school districts throughout their onboarding journey with Abre. This role requires a blend of technical understanding, project management expertise, and a strong customer success orientation. You’ll coordinate closely with the Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) and Customer Experience (CX) teams to ensure smooth and successful implementations that create early value for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Project Management: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables for data integrations, collaborating with the DaaS team and the broader CX organization.
- Customer Success Focus: Partner with districts beyond integration to ensure successful adoption and early wins that accelerate time-to-value and support long-term customer retention.
- Expectation Setting: Communicate integration requirements, timelines, and potential roadblocks clearly to district stakeholders, aligning expectations with project realities.
- Documentation: Create and maintain thorough documentation for integration processes, district-specific requirements, and project outcomes.
- Customer Training: Guide and train districts on effectively using their integrated systems post-launch.
- Feedback Loop: Collect and synthesize district feedback after integration to improve internal processes and future onboarding experiences. Propose tooling and documentation enhancements to streamline onboarding.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Education Technology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in technical project management, customer onboarding, or implementation in K-12 EdTech SaaS environments
- Strong understanding of data integrations, APIs, ETL processes, and Student Information Systems (SIS)
- Ability to assess technical requirements accurately
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building trust with K-12 district stakeholders
- Mental agility to adapt to fluid work processes and develop out-of-the-box solutions
- Ability to be on-site with Houston area customers 2-3 times per week
Preferred Skills
- Experience working directly with superintendent-level staff at school districts
- Knowledge of Texas-specific programs such as TIA (Teacher Incentive Allotment) and other relevant initiatives
