About the Role
Abre is seeking a VP of Technical Services to lead our data visualization and technical service delivery efforts. This role is ideal for a strategic and hands-on leader with deep expertise in K-12 EdTech systems. The VP of Technical Services will drive innovation, scale technical operations, and ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration between Product, Client Success, and Sales.
Key Responsibilities
Data Integration & Infrastructure
- Collaborate with Data Analysts and Product & Data Engineering teams on data warehousing, ETL pipelines, and API integration to ensure seamless interoperability.
- Work with K-12 EdTech systems, including SIS, LMS, assessment platforms, and state reporting (Ed-Fi, OneRoster, CEDS).
- Utilize SQL and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI) to support data analytics and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and other education data privacy regulations to protect student data.
Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Manage & scale a high-performing, remote, client-facing Technical Services team in a fast-growing SaaS environment.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Client Success, and Sales to improve service delivery.
- Implement process improvements that enhance service scalability
Strategic & Customer-Facing Abilities
- Provide consulting and technical support to customers, translating complex technical concepts into actionable solutions.
- Oversee P&L management, service monetization, and cost optimization to drive revenue growth.
- Engage directly with customers and stakeholders to ensure seamless technical implementation and ongoing success.
Qualifications
Experience & Knowledge
- 10+ years of experience in technical services, data integration, or a related field (preferably in SaaS or EdTech).
- Strong background in data management, integration, and visualization technologies.
- Proven experience leading remote, diverse technical teams and scaling service operations.
Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a passion for mentoring teams.
- Ability to design and scale technical processes efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in data services, project management, and collaboration tools.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel (~25%).
