Position Purpose
Abre is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Client Experience team, playing a pivotal role in delivering tailored, data-driven solutions to school districts. This role emphasizes client-facing collaboration and consulting, requiring the ability to manage data projects from conception to execution while ensuring exceptional service delivery. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, working independently and as part of a consultative team to meet and exceed client goals.
Specific Responsibilities
Client Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal team members and school district leaders to gather, interpret, and prioritize data requirements.
- Act as a trusted consultant, ensuring data solutions align with client objectives and operational goals.
- Provide training and guidance to clients on leveraging dashboards and visualizations to achieve actionable insights.
Data Solution Delivery:
- Design and implement efficient data visualizations within the Abre platform to support district needs and goals.
- Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Develop and maintain data models, databases, and pipelines to facilitate smooth client operations.
- Write SQL queries and leverage programming tools (e.g., Python or R) for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI platforms, tailored to client needs.
Quality Assurance and Innovation:
- Identify and resolve data quality issues, providing proactive solutions to improve client outcomes.
- Stay abreast of advancements in data analysis, visualization, and statistical techniques, bringing innovative ideas to client engagements.
Collaborative Consulting:
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering and client success, to deliver cohesive, data-driven outcomes.
- Actively participate in post-implementation reviews and gather client feedback to refine service offerings.
Qualifications
Client-Centric Mindset:
- Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders, understand their needs, and deliver exceptional client services.
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and database management.
- Proficiency in visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
Analytical Expertise:
- Ability to analyze complex data sets to provide meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
- Familiarity with statistical methods and data mining techniques.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Consultative Approach:
- Experience in managing multiple client projects, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, consulting environment.
Continuous Learning:
- Eagerness to stay updated on industry trends, particularly those impacting K-12 education and data-driven decision-making.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with K-12 Education Data: Familiarity with student information systems (SIS), assessment data, attendance, behavior, and other education-related datasets. Understanding of state and federal education reporting requirements.
- Advanced Data Visualization & BI Expertise: Experience building interactive dashboards using Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools. Ability to create custom visualizations and advanced analytics reports tailored to education stakeholders.
- Cloud & Data Engineering Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Snowflake). Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools and automation.
- Programming & Scripting: Strong skills in Python, R, or JavaScript for data manipulation, automation, or API integrations. Experience using pandas, NumPy, or other data science libraries for analysis.
- Project & Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage multiple data projects and communicate progress with clients. Experience working with agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Asana, or Trello.
- Data Privacy & Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of FERPA, COPPA, and other education data privacy laws. Understanding of best practices for handling sensitive student data.
- Experience with APIs & System Integrations: Ability to work with RESTful APIs to integrate with third-party education platforms. Understanding of data interoperability standards (e.g., Ed-Fi, OneRoster).
